The Core of Education today announced a timely rebroadcast of Dr. Rod Berger's interview with Dr. Amy Plog of Cherry Creek Schools, Colorado. The podcast can be accessed via iTunes, or directly on The Core of Education website.
"It is essential we ask what has the Sandy Hook tragedy taught us," says Core of Education podcast host, Rod Berger, PsyD. "This is the compelling question that remains as the haze of recent days subsides." Dr. Berger's podcast series interviews leading education thought-leaders to help focus the nation's attention on vital issues.
Dr. Plog reflects on the challenges of Safe School Design in the aftermath of the Columbine shootings and relates lessons learned, as well as proposing fresh solutions. Dr. Plog headed a team of educators who developed The Colorado School Climate Survey, an instrument to help measure climate and identify crucial problems for intervention. She is currently developing a comprehensive bibliography of bullying research, demonstrating the psychometric soundness of that survey, and continuing efforts to further the evidence for the positive impact of the Bully-Proofing Your School program.
