Graphic Products, Inc. Announces New Series of Colorful, Detailed Infographics   By PRWEB

Portland, OR (PRWEB) November 13, 2012

Graphic Products, Inc., manufacturers of DuraLabel industrial systems, has released four infographics illustrating trending workplace safety messages. These infographics are available for all to view or download at http://www.duralabel.com/infographics. Businesses and other organizations are encouraged to embed them in their own websites.

  • Arc Flash Boundary: The eight boundary zones are clearly identified on the arc flash boundary infographic. The flash protection boundary is an imaginary sphere that surrounds the potential arc point. NFPA 70E states that the arc flash boundary is an area "within which a person could receive a second degree burn if an electrical arc flash were to occur."
  • OSHA Workplace Safety: The OSHA Workplace Safety infographic features an eye-catching mix of statistics that give the reader a sense of the chronological growth and impact of OSHA on workplace safety since before its inception in 1970 through today. The occurances of injuries and deaths in the workplace have decreased dramatically.
  • The Globally Harmonized System: This infographic details how and where GHS impacts chemical transportation and identification in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, European Union, Australia, South America, Japan, China and Australia. GHS is a change that isn't scheduled to become required until June 1st, 2015 but shippers of hazardous materials have already started to adopt the GHS standards.

  • Deadliest U.S. Jobs & Cities: This infographic is dominated with a map noting safest cities in green and deadliest cities in red per 1,000,000 workers. The city with fewest workplace deaths per capita is Sacramento, CA and the most deadly is Midland, TX. This infographic also displays the 10 deadliest jobs in the United States.

Infographics are a popular way to simplify complex data. Theyre widely used by USA Today to illustrate social, economic and geographic information. What all have in common is impact and imagery whether they incorporate tables, pie charts, flow charts, diagrams, graphs, drawings or symbols.

The Arc Flash Boundary, OSHA Workplace Safety, Globally Harmonized System and Deadliest U.S. Jobs & Cities infographics were created by graphic designer Joe Hanson and are based on research from the Bureau of Labor, OSHA and other sources.

Over the past two years, Graphic Products, Inc. has expanded its workplace safety library to include:

  •     Lean manufacturing, hazardous materials labeling, workplace safety, food processing, confined space and OSHA safety best practice guides
