Johnny B. Truant Releases Kindle eBook Fat Vampire   By PRWEB

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 14, 2012

Johnny B. Truant, author of Bialy Pimps and cohost of the Better Off Undead Show and the Self Publishing Podcast, announces the release of his new Kindle exclusive, Fat Vampire.

Fat Vampire is a darkly humorous vampire tale, which is as notable for its production as it is for the novelty of its story. Fat Vampire was published just 29 days after the idea first surfaced during one of Johnnys podcasts.

Discussing the lack of overweight vampires among all the svelte, beautiful, and sparkly vampires in pop culture, Johnny suggested a Fat Vampire book might be fun to write. The idea was born, and less than one month later the title was published to Amazon.

Affordably priced at $2.99, the indie eBook is an entertaining piece of easy to read horror that will delight fans and newcomers to Truants work. By spoofing an old tale and giving it a new twist, Truant gives Reginald Baskin, the hero of Fat Vampire, a curse no one would undead feeder who cant catch his lunch.

It was a vampire tale that hadnt been told before, Truant said. And a fun experiment in the indie tradition The Self Publishing Podcast inspires me to throw myself into, week after week.

As a human, Reginald sold treadmills for a living. Unable to escape the torment of his coworkers, he lived his pathetic tortured life going to work each day, hating himself, until meeting Maurice, a coworker whos not what he seems.

Even as a vampire, Reginald doesnt sport the good looks of Edward, the Cullens, or Lestat. As in life, he is fat, slow, out of shape, and doomed to stay that way for eternity.

So far, fans are loving it. As one reviewer said:
Fat Vampire, which I picked up because of the hilarious premise, is very well-written. Truant is extremely witty, and the dialogue is better than almost anything else out there. The book manages to be both funny and exciting, which is a tough combination to pull off. Reginald, the main character, is sympathetic and likable. Although some of the descriptions of his "shortcomings" as a vampire are hysterical, they're not done distastefully or hurtfully (again, a tough combo to pull off).

This is the kind of outside-the-box thinking Truant delivers through his books, and blog. Its also why he and co-hosts Sean Platt and David Wright, do the Better off Undead podcast so well. Fat Vampire is available now, and because of its overwhelmingly positive early reception, Truant has already started on the sequel, Fat Vampire 2.
