Lawyer: OH scam suspect lied to everyone Lawyer who worked for vets charity says group's director lied to everyone including herself By The Associated Press

CLEVELAND (AP) ' A lawyer who represented a Navy veterans charity that investigators believe was a scam says the group's director lied to everyone, including her.

Suburban Columbus attorney Helen Mac Murray said Tuesday she finally went to investigators after she couldn't get answers about the group's finances.

U.S. marshals arrested a man who calls himself Bobby Thompson in Portland, Ore., on Monday night.

Mac Murray says Thompson spoke of contacts he had in New Mexico and Oregon, places where marshals later said they tracked the fugitive, who was indicted two years ago.

Mac Murray called Thompson a brilliant man who always had answers for the irregularities she questioned.

Cleveland-based U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott confirms that Mac Murray provided information to investigators tracking Thompson.
