Tony Award winning actor Joe Mantegna, star of TVs Criminal Minds and Cars 2, will co-host the 21st Annual Faith & Values Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry with his actress daughter, Gia Mantegna, on Feb. 15, 2013, announced Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®, the family consumers guide to movies and entertainment that sponsors the Gala.
We are proud to have Joe and his beautiful daughter, Gia, emcee the 21st Annual Gala, Dr. Baehr said.
Miss Mantegna was Miss Golden Globe of 2011 and is appearing in several upcoming movies, including The Frozen Ground with Nicolas Cage.
Joe has appeared in more than 100 movies. He and his wife, Arlene, are active in the Autism Families Together Network, a group founded by Arlene. Their first daughter, Mia, a make-up artist and budding actress, has autism.
The 21st Annual Awards honors family-friendly movies and television programs and spiritually uplifting entertainment. The Gala will be held at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
The Emmy Award-winning company Associated Television International, headed by David McKenzie, is producing the Awards, which will be telecast on the Hallmark Movie Channel.
The theme for this years Awards is Faith and Valor.
The 21st Annual Awards will feature the $100,000 Epiphany Prizes for Inspiring Movies & TV and the Fifth Annual $50,000 Kairos Prizes for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays penned by first-time or beginning screenwriters.
The Epiphany and Kairos Prizes honor the best movie, television program and the three best scripts that greatly increase man's love and/or understanding of God.
Other awards given at the Gala will be The 10 Best Family Movies of 2012, The 10 Best Movies for Mature Audiences of 2012, the Faith & Freedom Awards for the best movies and television programs promoting America and/or positive American values in 2012, and the Grace Awards for Most Inspiring Movie & TV Performances of 2012.
The focal point of the Gala is Dr. Baehrs Report to the Entertainment Industry. This comprehensive analysis of the major movies released in theaters and on home video is presented to show entertainment industry leaders attending the Gala the movies that make the most money in the U.S. and overseas.
Our annual analysis, Dr, Baehr noted, shows that the most family-friendly movies with God-centered, moral, spiritually uplifting, Christian, biblical, redemptive, or wholesome content and principles with little or no obscenity, sex, graphic violence, and explicit nudity make the most money.
