NJ College Admissions Specialist from Montgomery Educational Consulting Publishes a List of the Best Websites for Financial Aid Information   By PRWEB

(PRWEB) December 13, 2012

In her latest blog post on the GreatCollegeAdvice.com website, Andrea Aronson, a college admissions specialist based in Westfield, New Jersey, gives readers her list of preferred websites that students and their families can use when trying to understand the world of financial aid.

Her recommendations are timely since financial aid application season is about to be in full swing. The Free Application for Financial Student Assistance (FAFSA), which must be filled out by all students who are seeking federal governmental aid, will become available on January 1, 2013, while the CSS Profile, an additional form required by selected colleges who provide institutional aid, became available on October 1, 2012. Ms. Aronson wrote a previous blog post in which she provided information about the CSS Profile and some of its confusing aspects.

The Web is filled with lots of information about financial aid. Unfortunately, having too much information can also be overwhelming, and students and their families dont necessarily know the best sources to look to for their particular questions and needs, stated Ms. Aronson. Ive tried to provide them with a list of what I consider to be the most helpful and trusted sites.

In her article, My Top Websites for Financial Aid Information, Ms. Aronson, a Senior Associate with Montgomery Educational Consulting, provides lists of sites in three main areas: successful completion of the FAFSA and CSS Profile, discussion of the general financial aid landscape, and international student issues.

In addition to just informational sites, she also provides links to some excellent tools, including some that help students forecast their potential debt and the time required to repay what they might borrow. I find that interactive tools, such as some of those that Ive suggested, really help students to get a clearer picture of their financial situation. And besides, those sites are more fun to visit! Ms. Aronson remarked.

Worrying about how you're going to fund your education is stressful to begin with, and trying to sort through the mountain of information that is out there can add to the stress. Having a simple list of useful sites and links that can answer a students questions can make the process much less of a hassle.

These college admissions experts guide students every step of the way as they navigate the university search and application process.
