Sensarium has refined its direction and will now operate like a television network. By utilizing its video wall technology in public venues, creative content can now be seen by the public and enjoyed in high definition. This is only the beginning for the fledgling network, which will make good use of the growing availability of high speed internet access in public venues across the United States and beyond.
"When Barry Cohen of Oliveras Coffee and Juice Bar (one of Sensarium's public venues) related how his customers were reacting to the display, it completely reoriented my thinking," says John Graffio, Executive Producer of Sensarium.TV. "Barry told me people would sit and watch the display for almost an hour, which seemed to me like they were in fact watching a television show. If that was the case, then maybe we were telecasting shows more than we were functioning as an art gallery," said Graffio.
In order for Sensarium to embrace the television broadcast model, the Sensarium.TV domain was activated and the website was redesigned to embrace the broadcast concept. Sensarium's management observed that people watch television far more often than they visit an art gallery. If the public is going to enjoy and embrace creative talent, it should come through a medium that is comfortable and familiar.
