South Mountain Community College is celebrating its Silver Anniversary of the holiday season tradition, Highlights from Handel's Messiah. The 25th annual performance will be presented Saturday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. at South Mountain Community College.
Under the direction of Dr. Jerome Garrison, SMCC Music Faculty Chair, more than 60 vocalists and 25 instrumentalists will participate in this year's silver anniversary performance, comprising the Community Concert Choir and Orchestra.
Area students, workers, retirees, teenagers, great-grandmothers and college employees all join together for the opportunity to perform one of the most moving musical pieces of all time.
This performance will take place in the SMCC Performance Hall, 7050 S. 24th Street in Phoenix (just north of Baseline Road).
General admission tickets are priced at $10. The box office opens at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com
