Bay Area Fine Art Printing Company, The LightRoom Showcases Watercolors and Inkjet Prints by Local Artist Brian Stannard   By PRWEB

The LightRoom, a Bay Area company that offers fine art printing to photographers and artists, features the work of its many talented clients. From Feb. 6 to March 9, The LightRoom will showcase watercolors and pigment inkjet prints by local artist Brian Stannard. A reception for the artist will be held on Feb. 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. at The LightRoom Gallery.

Stannard's work is easily recognized by the vibrant colors and broad strokes of his brush, and the identifiable caricatures of the subjects he paints. The people are often musicians--blues singers, jazz players, country and western icons--and the locals, the dives, the half-hidden night clubs where they can be found. A flower vendor, a crowded scene from a historic labor strike decades ago, Lenny Bruce behind bars--these, too, are people and incidents Stannard draws inspiration from for his art.

Im a city slicker and draw just as much inspiration from a citys inhabitants as other visual arts. People are the individual bits of stained glass that make up the larger window of a city, and I try to piece this all together, Stannard said.
