Check the tv.adobe.com website for lists of great resources. However, I think that you'll find that ADOBE PREMIERE is a better tool for creating slide shows.
After Effects is a great tool for special EFFECTS and animation.
PremierePro is a great tool for EDITING and creating transitions.
I think that Premiere Pro is much easier to use when handling multiple clips/photos/sources for a slide show.
