Adobe After Effects: exporting question

SUBJECT: exporting question

When I export a clip from AE 5.5 it sometimes comes out pixelated and not the same quality I can see it as in AE. Any suggestions? Am I exporting the wrong way?

Also sometimes when I export the video not only is crappy quailty put plays very choppy.
