Hey Dave, I read your article on how to conform text to a shape by using the envelope distort option. 

What I am wondering, is how do I make type conform to a shape without distorting the 90 degree vertical nature of the text?  For example, using a shape that is a rectangle (on the top and both sides), but the bottom side curves upward.  This curved side distorts the text so that it is no longer perfectly vertical.  Any ideas?
