Help!

MacPro (Nehalem), 6 gigs of RAM, nVidia GFX285, OS X 10.6.3

Anytime I try to play ANYTHING whether in the source side or from the timeline, PP stops playback after only 15 frames and the playhead jumps back to where it started from.

I've tried audio only and video only, and I get the exact same result. I'm ready to pull my hair out.
