SUBJECT: Workline recommendations(FCP to Compressor to DVD Pro Studio or iDVD?)
2) 26 gig files? No problem...that's about the correct size for a 2 hour DV movie. You're in the right ballpark there.
3)correct workflow: import big file into FCP, edit, effect and trim as needed; export a Quicktime reference movie (i.e., "export Quicktime Movie", de-select the "make movie self-contained" checkbox in the dialog); open Compressor and add the reference movie, select your compression setting (if you need a bit more space on the disc, try "150 minutes best quality"); then you can work in FCP while Compressor works in the background (woe be to he who goes directly out from FCP to Compressor...).
If you don't like any of DVDSP's templates, any old pict or jpeg can be used as a menu background...but then you'll need to learn how to create buttons, etc., which is not difficult at all, but may take more time than you have right now.
