Thanks for jumping in with this information- I've been fielding emails left and right from people that have popped in here to look around. One of the things I've heard a few times is that this message base is one of the easier ones to use, which is a *big* plus.
The archived posts will be very cool- and to be able to search through them quickly will be a treat.
A few things I wondered about, and I might as well toss this out here so that our users can comment on it as well... although the word USERs has such a bad connotation to it these days... hehe!
I'll probably end up creating a FAQ for Bryce- more or less answering all the things that people email me all the time. What about being able to set up some sort of user's Add-a-link page? The visitors here could add links to websites that they know of that have tutorials, materials, etc. I could "screen" them before they go live if need be to weed out the spam or sites that don't really add much to this forum.
Along the same lines, what about a way to start a listing of websites of the visitors that frequent this area- it would probably help the new Bryce users to be able to cruise through the members of this area's galleries. I, for one, do that almost daily- I spend some time llink jumping from one website to another.
And to the visitors here- this area is only a few days old, it's still being formed, so now would be the time to offer ideas and suggestions of what YOU want this area to do for you. Jut keep in mind that there's a lot of work being done right now behind the scenes, so it may be a while before these additional ideas can be implemented.
And I for one am thrilled to see so many long time friends and fellow Bryce addicts showing up! I have a feeling that this area is going to be great with the assistance of the visitors here. I was worrying that I'd send out the invitations and no one would show up! <whew!> Thanks gang!
Well, that's about it for now- I'm sure that other things will come up later, and I'll pass along any suggestions that I get.
