My local Maya reseller tells me that an Xserv Cluster is an overkill for rendering and that a simple render farm of regular G5's will do the job.

Since I am a post-production pro and not a networking expert I would need some clarifications in the difference between a cluster and a plain render farm of the same amout and power of CPU's.
