The DeShaker script actually renders your file out to VirtualDub to use the DeShaker plug-in there and then renders it back to Vegas (2x renders). Mercalli works within Vegas and only renders once when you render your final project. I prefer Mercalli. It's just faster and easier to stay within Vegas.
