It all depends on budget. But naturally for speed, you'd want to go with the fastest processors, a healthy amount of RAM (1gb per processor or more is ideal, plus a few gigs for the system), and then a decent graphics card would help.

Thank you Gary !!! but we can suppose ( just suppose ) that there`s no problem with the budget... what`s the best ? I know that exist the "render farm ", a lot of PC linked... but just for one PC ? A long time ago, I heard about the "Ice Card"...still exist ? Im very curious about this... What the film industry do ? what they have ??? thank you

If you're budget minded, you just have to do your best to spread it out between CPU and RAM, and then perhaps put the rest towards a slightly better graphics card. Just a single computer to start with. I'm not in the film biz, but I assume they'd recommend the same thing.
ICE cards are long gone, there is no hardware accelerated cards anymore, if anything that's now being taken up by graphics card GPUs.

You're welcome. I'm not sure how it is in the PC world, but since processors are always getting faster, you might want to get the 2nd fastest CPU's (which can sometimes be significantly cheaper than the pricey top-end ones) in order to ensure that you can get enough RAM and other items.

Intel recently came out with a different version of the quad core i7, the 860 which is faster than the original low end i7 and is still under $300us, the next step up is almost double the price for a few tenths of a giga hz faster, and you can get a Nvidia GTX200 series starting at $200us and up which will give good performance, if you want to do really high end graphics then Quatro series cards is what you want, and maybe dual-quad core Xenons
