SUBJECT: Best method to render FCP to FLV
Hey DMN gurus, It's been a while since I've been here but I'm in a real pinch and google is not playing nicely.

I'm re-encoding all my music videos and commercials to FLV but cannot figure out how to adjust the size of the video nor make the resolution top-notch.

I need the dimensions of the video to be 680 x 380 (i know not standard, but it's the size of my player)

I'm using Export to Quicktime > FLV encoding at the best resolution I can determine. I've tried Sorenson and the other one (cant remember right now) and the video still comes out alot more interlaced then usual.

Compressor crashes ever since I bought it so I've never used it. It just frustrates me that out of the box it wouldn't work properly. Help with that would be appreciated.

I'm coming over to FCP from a Vegas platform and sometimes I wish I didn't, but it is a more standard editor so I've embraced it.

Any help would be GREEEATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

The video "interlaces"? You mean pixellates, correct?

And perhaps there's part of your problem...I usually do the Red Giant Dance when I output any video shot in an "i" (interlaced) format, 480i or 1080i. I nest my sequence into a "deinterlace" sequence, then output that as a reference movie to input to my compressor of choice. I use Sorenson, and no one's complained about the results, even using the Spark Codec.

I'm still back in the Final Cut Studio 2 days, with Compressor 3.0.5...I don't even think I have a Flash codec in this version, so I'm no help to you there.

Well the wierd thing is most videos I've done aren't too bad, but some are worse off then others. I can almost deal with some of them, but it's the resizing that gets me.

I've given up trying to use Compressor as the program has never worked since the day I installed it. Always crashes, hangs, (ie never works.) Alot of threads talk about using it but it's worthless to me.

I'm running it on a Mac Pro quad core with 8 gig ram... nothing but headaches. So I've just been using Export to Quicktime > FLV
