The easiest way to place the moon in a scene is to
hold down the ctrl, alt and shift keys then double
click on the sun sphere at the top right of the window. Now anywhere you click in the scene the moon will appear. In the sky lab you can adjust the size of the moon or sun you can also adjust the phase of the moon and also options for rings around it.
