Neumann came out with a re-issue of the U67 in 1991. How does it compare sonically to the original U67?

The U67, in my opinion, was not one of the real classic Neuman valve mics, not like the M50, M47, M49 ect. Basically it sounds very simular to the U87 higher noise floor, might be a touch warmer, but very, very little in it. As for the reissue version I believe it was made the same way, not sure if the preamp was hybrid, if this is the case, sonically I would expect it to suffer. Buy a U87, much better value for your money. I was also told that since Senheiser bought out Neuman a few years back the production of their mics had been moved to the Senheiser factory and quality control was now a real issue. I personally would look to buy a good condition secondhand U87 or U47, both sound great.

I already own a U87, from the Sennheiser factory I might add. It does not sound great on vox. I'd actually like to buy a U47 FET but prices have gone up quite a bt in the past few months.

SUBJECT: material estimate
Is there anybody able to help me avaluate a used Neuman U87 FET microphone, a Sony Digital recorder PCM 70030 and others ?
Is there a source on-line for such estimates of professional recording material ?
Thanks
