SUBJECT: Applying a plugin to a selection
All other drawing/paint programs enable me to

make a selection and then apply a plugin to it

rather than the whole page.

Is there a way to do this in Satori Paint 3.02?

Yes, you can do this in Satori. For the sake of argument, let's assume that your selection is a Freehand Polygon.

Select Geometry Actions, Freehand Polygon and draw the shape on the screen. Don't worry if the result is a bright red splodge - as soon the shape is drawn go to the Edit menu at the top of the window and select Copy/Paste. This will copy the selection within the Freehand Polygon shape to a new layer (Layer 2).

Then all you do is apply the plug-in to this new layer.

BTW - Layer 1 remains unaltered and may be switched on or off as appropriate.

Hope this helps.

Copy the layer.

Apply the plugin FX.

Create a user mask to eliminate the portion you are not interested in.

This way you can add or subtract as much of the effected image as you desire.
