SUBJECT: how to import pictures cropped to 16:9 automatically
how to import a row of pictures and let Vegas import them with pan/crop set to 16:9 automatically ? I'd rather open pan/crop on pictures that don't display how i want them, but open pan/crop for every picture.

Go to Options > Preferences > Editing tab and make sure the 'Automatically crop still images added to the timeline' (near bottom) is checked. Setup your project file with the correct dimensions that you want ( a widescreen template). Import your pix and they will crop automatically. You may still need to adjust some a bit, obviously.
